Prof Jesse MugambiProfessor of Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Nairobi

He is Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies, University of Nairobi, from which he graduated with his BA, MA and PhD. Prof. Mugambi has had a number of visiting professorships internationally. He is a fellow of the Kenya National Academy of Sciences (FKNAS) and was conferred a national honor as an Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) on 12th December 2010.
He is a remarkably productive professor whose interests cut across disciplinary boundaries and led to numerous notable publications., among which are: Christianity and the African Cultural Heritage (2005); “Climate Change and Food Security: A Challenge for African Christianity” and “Profile of African Christianity at Home and in the West” in Anthology of African Christianity (Regnum 2017); African Theology of Reconstruction (Butare 2016); “The Future of Theological Education in Africa and the Challenges it Faces” and “Challenges for Theological Publishing of Scholarly books in Africa” in Handbook of Theological Education in Africa (Regnum; 2013); Christianity and African Culture (Acton 1989, 2000, 2002); Contextual Theology Across Cultures (Acton 2009, with Michael R. Guy).

Prof Adamson S. MuulaProfessor of Public Health and Epidemiology at College of Medicine, University of Malawi/ Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS)

He is professor of Public Health and Epidemiology at College of Medicine, University of Malawi/ Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) . His formal education in science, medicine, public health and epidemiology was obtained from Flinders University (South Australia), Chancellor College and College of Medicine (Malawi), Loma Linda and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the National Board of Public Health Examiners (US) and the University of Eastern Africa Baraton (Kenya).

He teaches Principles of Epidemiology to Masters in Biostatistics students at Chancellor College, he also supervises students’ research work. At College of Medicine, he has served as Deputy Dean of Medicine and later Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research at the College of Medicine. He has also served in: College Assessment Committee (as Coordinator), College Appointments and Disciplinary Committee, Chair of the College’s Research and Publications Committee, the College’s Postgraduate Committee, the College Library Committee, the College’s Professorial Inaugural Lectures as well as being councillor in the UNIMA Council, Board Member of the Medical Council of Malawi and the Civil Liberties Committee.

Prof Muula has authored/co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. He has conducted dozens of consultancies in health (e.g. Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV and AIDS, Family Planning) and assisted in the development of strategic plans for clients as diverse as: Ministry of Health, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNAIDS, National AIDS Commission, Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM), Plan International Malawi, and the World Health Organization.
